Last Friday, Amazon (our ISP) performed some maintenance that affected our servers. Since then we’ve heard reports from a few users that they can’t connect to MetaFilter from specific networks. We asked Amazon about the problem but they haven’t been able to track it down. We’re investigating things on our end as well and we haven’t been able to find the problem.
If you aren’t able to reach MetaFilter, you might try a different network if you can. We apologize for the hassle. If you can reach MetaFilter, we’re discussing the issue in MetaTalk.
Update 9/29: The issue seems to have cleared for everyone after some backend rearranging.
